Wichita's tree canopy is shrinking, and the neighborhoods that feel the heat hardest have the fewest trees. We plant where it matters most, push for stronger protections at city hall, and help residents care for what's already here.
ICT Trees is dedicated to the preservation and expansion of Wichita's tree canopy. Through collaborative efforts, education, and hands-on initiatives, we strive to protect existing trees and foster growth of new ones.
Native shade trees given free to residents in low-canopy neighborhoods across Wichita, with mulch and planting guidance included.
Down from 22% in 2018. The city loses roughly 3,300 trees per year. That's the gap we're working to close.
Every resident who received a tree in our 2024 distribution said they'd recommend the program to a friend or neighbor.
Whether you want to volunteer, learn more about our work, or bring ICT Trees to your neighborhood, we'd love to hear from you.
